History
Mamaology® was born of a passion to empower and inspire the mothers and families in the Mid-Ohio Valley. In 2007, eight women joined together to start a group focused on educating young mothers about healthy pregnancy and birth choices. They quickly found other women in the area with similar interests and began to expand their collection of resources and offerings, including regular meetings, informational workshops, social gatherings, and an online community.
Today, Mamaology® is directed by a board of eight members. These members may all hold various views on birth and parenting but universally uphold the core values of Mamaology®. They strive to provide men and women with unbiased information and resources about choices in pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting and advocate decisions that promote the health and well-being of all those involved.
In 2010, Mamaology® adopted by-laws. They are pursuing non-profit status, as well as working on a collection of books and films to serve as a lending library for the community.
